That's why I didn't title the thread "Forty years ago today". ;) "Down goes Frazier, down goes Frasier". Perhaps the greatest call by a sports commentator. When Howard was good he was really good.

The part that startled me in listening (again) to the replay of the fight was Cosell's reference to Frazier being 29 years old (which means, of course, that he was 27 when he beat Ali two years earlier). I don't think I ever thought of him as being that young (although part of that may have been the fact that I was only 18 myself at the time of the Frazier-Foreman fight).
