:6: - Avie's Quality - This one showed talent immediately. What is especially nice is the progression this colt has made. Has gone from a green closer with poor footwork, to a professional. If the pace comes back, this one should be a stubborn contender. If he keeps improving could be a contender for the Derby.

:7: - Golden Soul - This is a likeable colt. Unlike the top contender, he hasn't had a professional race yet. This one just looks like/resembles a triple crown horse(visual), and has good energy in the stretch. The work looks great on paper, but only time for 1 since the Maiden romp. Today close to a much faster pace. Could need a race, but I am rooting for him.

:3: - Fear the Kitten - could the trainer move get this one over the hump? Dangerous outsider.

The big question I have is going to be the speed. The above contenders are all stretch runners.
1,2,4,8,9 should all be near the pace, and you never want to completely write off the advantage of early position.

Just taking a quick glance at today's charts, they weren't winning from more than 3 lengths back from the half mile, but to draw off like that after being pushed by a sprinter was pretty impressive.Nice pedigree,Awesome Again, out of a Tiznow mare. That caught my eye before the race. The Avie horse, did he just not like dirt?I didn't see trouble or anything else from him.

Yea. Oxbow looked good. Did it as easily as his maiden win. Looked in good condition as well.

Avie's Quality - I think he had 2 strikes against him as soon as the race developed into a wire-wire type of race. Was pretty far back, and then started taking a ton of kick-back, but the horse just didn't respond either. Horse was asked to do something new, and I know I was guilty of assuming he'd handle it.

Not a bad race by Golden Soul. He made up ground, and then had to come around a rival in the stretch costing him a few lengths. Didn't look like any type of derby prep effort, but he showed a response.

Oxbow only got a 91 Beyer for that effort
