I agree.

It wasn't until I spent more time with animals that I began to understand that they are are WAY more intelligent, feeling etc... than most people give them credit for. And I'm not even just talking about dogs. I've seen almost shocking signs of intelligence and emotion from turtles, frogs etc... They may not be able to read and do higher math, but there are things going on their heads that are far beyond what we are aware of and they may actually be superior in some ways. It's just that we measure intelligence based on what we are good at instead of a broader spectrum of things that require brain power.
