WFT was Morales doing on #4 Taproot after he hit the lead?... looks like he just went into coasting mode?

I can understand your frustration but I must say I was impressed with the jock on the winner. As he was trying to regain the lead it looked like he had sweeping wide moves with his arm while whipping as opposed to just striking like some do which sometimes has the opposite effect than what they intend. It seemed enough to get the job gracefully done where others might have tried try to beat the horse to the wire.

Well lets see: the #6 is a 6 year old who is 2 for 13 lifetime.
His two wins are a maiden going 51/2 on turf and a "never won two life".

The #10 is W.W.'s Lady's Man who is also 6 years old.
He is 8 for 38, earned $257,000 and has won a stakes race and starter Hcps.

Perhaps he looked over and said "listen punk you are not going to beat me"??

A very underrated angle by a lot of players.

A lot happens in the late stages of the race re:bottom. If one horse can finish and the other can't , its all over.

I REALLY needed that horse. If he wins I have a real big day. Can't believe a Ness off the claim goes off at 6-1. Very rarely do you see a horse take the lead like that so deep in the stretch and then lose.
But...I don't think he was completely relishing the muddy footing, and his sore achy legs may have factored in as well, plus maybe he just wasn't given enough juice by Ness.
