1/12 8:00 ET At San Francisco Green Bay +3
1/13 1:00 ET At Atlanta Seattle +2.5

Upset week?
Pretty confident with Green Bay beating San Francisco here. Harbaugh has handled Kaepernick beautifully and Kaepernick has continued to impress. I think we'll see a more ordinary game from Kaepernick here, and Rodgers and the Packers will be playing at a new peak.

Seattle is a better team than Atlanta, but Atlanta can put points on the board in a hurry. Barring turnovers, I think Seattle pours it on here. Seattle looks like the Wildcard this year.

Less confident in Baltimore. They were playing good football to advance here. Manning will try to field-general the Ravens to death, and keep the defense on it's heels. 9.5 is a lot of points here.

For those of you who bet the NFL; don't sell the ravens short. The D is jelling at this time and the emotion with Ray lewis's return is big.

If I were a wagering NFL guy I would give the R's a long look.

Denver -9 I thought BOTH Indy & Denver made good moves last year with the QB quandry. However, Peyton with that surgery at his age? Doubter.
Badly fooled. He has been simply superlative with a 105 Rating and Rated #6 v.s. a badly outflanked Whack-o at # 14 and a mediocre 87 Rating.

Forget about that, though. Here's a hidden fact- the #2 NFL D is in Denver, far better than the Ravens.

Green Bay +3 Two evenly matched teams. The FAR better QB is Rodgers however, Rated #8 with a 108 QB Rating v.s. #30 Rated Kaepernick.

New England -9 Don't trust Houston, especially on the road. This is a big number, but one against an odds on candidate for best NFL QB of all time!

Seattle +2 1/2 Very closely matched. The Falcons are excellent at home and should be taken. But, I have the suspicion that the over the radar SeaHags are in the right spot in the right year. They are tough all over with the #4 v.s. 24 Rated D. Ryan is the better QB but Wilson has been a plucky little SOB and ex Bill Lynch is in full Beast Mode- tearing it up!

Ravens +9. I don't they they win but that's a lot of points to lay.

GB-SF. Pass on this game I think it's a coin flip but not necessarily a close game. Whoever executes early will be hard to catch.

Given the time left and the length of time for the ball in the air, THAT was one of the worst plays by a Safety ever!

Hell, my Sunday league guys over 60 could cover better!

That play was unbelievable...

Screw people my dog would have done a better job breaking that play up. Even my girl was like "huh?..." it was so bad you didn't want to believe they just scored.

Type of coverage error you'd expect in a HS game.
Ravens were better than I thought they would be, though.

The coach for Denver has no balls. If they let Manning pass on the 3rd down after the two minute warning and he makes it, the game is over right there.

Perhaps but the run wasn't a terrible call. IMO the only two people who should take the blame are the Safety and Peyton Manning in that order.

It was the "playing not to lose" call, and, as is often the case, you end up losing anyway.

I give Flacco a lot of credit. While the safety muffed it for sure, that was one heck of a throw, under those conditions.

I know it was really cold in Denver but was it also fairly windy? Only possible explanation and still not a very good one.

I completely agree. He also had Peyton Manning take a knee with 36 seconds left in the game, a couple of time outs and needing a only a field goal to win.

first time i've seen the read-option incorporated and thought it looked as good or better than a traditional elite QB.

Great coaching and QB play.

Packers defense suxs...

Lest we not forget in 2011 they allowed more yards than their offense gained. They are very weak up front.

We went to a local (small) casino for an evening of football in the sports bar.

What a great time! Where else but in Reno could you hang out for 5 hours, watch two games, eat lots of food (and even having a few beers/margaritas, etc) for $15 per person?

Some really good games today...finally.

Congrats to the Ravens...looks like they will get another shot at New England in the AFC title game unless the Texans come up big tomorrow.
Ya know they would LOVE another shot at the Pats after the way it went down last year.

What a game by Kaepernick...a coming out party (and a funeral for Alex Smith at the same time). Some poor team is gonna overpay for Smith and take him off the 49ers' hands.

As for Sunday's games:
i think Atlanta will handle the Seahawks. They travel east again, lose their leading sacker in Clemons, Lynch has a foot, and the Falcons are damn sick and tired of reading about their postseason woes. Seattle did fall behind 14-0 in a hurry last week...what if RG3 hadn't gotten hurt? would they have beaten the Skins?
Seattle plays rough-n-tumble football and has a SOLID secondary, but i say the Falcons are just too much tomorrow on their home turf.
Who cares about the Pats-Texans game?
gimme the Pats but i probably wont even be watching.

I would love to see the Texans win tomorrow, but they have not looked very good lately and I'm sure Brady is fired up after watching Manning get beat today.

After what the Ravens did to Denver, I'm somewhat shocked. Texans have as good a shot at winning as the Ravens did, and would be no more surprised if they did. :)

ATLANTA - 2/1/2

Atlanta has maybe the best deep-ball in the NFL.

I think Seattle wins here in a blowout. 10+ points.

Not unless Marshawn Lynch switches uni's at halftime, he's killing these guys, almost cost them last week.

That fumble came after the ONLY time all game that Seattle has established the read-option.

Poor coaching so far by Seattle. Run Wilson on 1st down, early in the drive/game and then Atlanta must adapt. They've mostly run a vanilla offense.

Credit to Atlanta, they've come to play.

Lots to discuss at the end of the Falcon-Seahawk game, did Seattle score too soon with 31 secs left? Did Atlanta score too soon with 10 seconds left in game? Should Peter Clay Carroll attempted a 65 yarder with 6 secs left to win instead of a hail mary?

You can have him. Aside from panicing back there, he doesn't have a clue when it comes to clock management. In short, who wants a Qb with happy feet who does not seem capable of adjusting to the game situation?

Switch QB's and we've got game today. (shrug)

I've never sen such poor clock management with 7 minutes left and needing 3 scores. Not only on one play, but several. I had to endure 40 years of this shit with the Oilers and now again with these morons. What a horrible excuse for any team at the professional level. Disgusting.

The Vikings got rid of Longwell because he couldn't get the ball into the end zone on kickoffs. He wouldn't have come close on a 65 yard field goal.

Maybe they could have used the Punter or someone else with a stronger leg? You have to figure a team has a backup plan incase the kicker gets injured.
