Just wondering if for those of that handicap while listening to tunage , do you have any favorite songs, albums that can get you in the mood and tight frame of mind. Always wonder what the poker guys are listening to (if anything other than silence) and you always see jocks carrying their i pods. Do you jam out in order to find that zone and if so lets assemble a top 50 list. I have been having a tough time winding down lately and decided tonight to turn off the TV and kick in some jams. I will start out with on of my favs. The most famous guitarist from my home state. It seems like he is telling me story about my life  You will appreciate that after the first track. Hope we can make this a repository of good suggestions regardless of type and age. k14U0lDWatQ

I generally like quiet when I handicap, but sometimes I listen to the Seekers or a touch singer Judy Garland or Lana Cantrell. Don Willaims works too

Wasn't Tommy Bolin in Deep Purple at that time? That would've been about the time Blackmore left and Bolin replaced him.

A very lose connection to horse racing:

Sonic Youth - Bull Inthe Heather

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JGBNkLM9_8

In case you don't recall, Bull InThe Heather was the $60.80 winner of the 1993 Florida Derby.

The video for the song features a couple of clips of a horse race. I seem to recall having the CD at one time and remember the album artwork also featured a picture of horses racing.

And of course, the all time classic horse racing song:

Good song, good band, good horse too. I saw the horse make its grass debut around June that year at Belmont. Howie Tesher.

Not what I grew up with, but now Frank occupies the first of six CD's in my car player. Nothing can bother me on the road, in the stores complete command of charm. At home with the races one would think the mindset of the gambler know when to hold them and know when to fold them but again Sinatra is the music of choice to filter out all that is ugly, especially races that should be left for suckers.

Three really good cuts on that album: Quinella, Homesick and Alien. Their earlier albums are much better. Dog Days, Third Annual Pipedream, etc.

Frank Sinatra's Version of Maybe this Time:

Everybody loves a winner
So nobody loved me;
'Mr Peaceful,' 'Mr Happy,'
That's what I long to be
All the odds are in my favor
Something's bound to begin
It's got to happen, happen sometime
Maybe this time I'll win!!!!!!!
