Stupid? How do you figure?

We've all been told that the guns are the actual evil. Not the person, not the crime, but the gun. This is what we are being programmed to believe. This "concerned citizen" was merely following orders from his/her master.

It says that the officers left the restaurant without paying their bill; did they at least leave a tip?

I had a friend who used to refer to himself as "This one". "This one is hungry"
"This one is going to watch the Cubs."
Is that what you are doing here? Asking us how stupid you are. I prefer not to answer. Your headline infers that all cops in Illinois are no longer allowed to carry weapons even while on duty.
The article makes it clear that the actions of the Denny's manager were not company policy. Those actions were immediately countermanded by his superior.

If i were that GM, that manager would be facing disciplinary action. If I were a customer in that restaurant and saw a group of men entering with guns and badges around their necks, I would assume they were LEO.

BTW, your link is no longer working.

Link works for me

You really shouldn't take thread titles so literally

Police officers are always on duty. Not when they have been drinking or at least I hope not.

Funny how he took that to the extreme of literalness...but wouldn't even think of mild literalness when interpreting some other things in print. :D

Not when they have been drinking or at least I hope not.

A video of the incident shows Officer Gildardo Sierra firing three shots into Flint Farmer's back as the Chicago man lay bleeding on a parkway early on June 7, 2011. The incident was the third shooting by Sierra in six months — and the second fatality, records show.

How stupid is this one May be you should not write in blatantly false thread titles. Since Illinois is in the US, you could say "Cops not allowed to carry guns in USA" that will get more thread views for you

How will they keep the peace without carrying guns?

Are they still allowed to use tasers??

If that employee was Union he'd tell you to F yourself then file a EEO complaint. :D

I particularly enjoyed this line from the story:

"Of course, officers will still show up if Denny’s calls for some kind of emergency, police said."

Not conveyed in the article was the police spokesman who mouthed the words "very slowly" at the end of that sentence.
