Race 1: (3)SHACKBAMALAMA is a nicely bred colt by graded stakes placed Patinee, a sixter of multiple graded stakes placed Scolara. He brings to his debut a busy worktab with 4f bullets in October, a solid foundation of long drills (5f and 6f) and two quick 3f on top. He's got a two turn pedigree for the future but as the speed is there, with blinkers and a good speed jockey he'll try to take the lead and last to the wire..

2nd ($4.80 - 3.80)

I think the :7: Bud Matic looks ready to run...

Those front wraps on the :3: worry me...

Oy! I had that completely wrong!!

I like paddock/ fitness selections, but it's tough to be right, when a see nothing in a race sometimes I bet my paddock pick.

Race 2: Well bred and lightly raced, (6)ANABAA PREMIUM has run three great races since moved to Dough O'Neil barn, with his Beyers goig up. Here there is another frontrunner but I project a steady pace with ANABAA PREMIUM knocking down Unexpected Gift on the far turn and holding the lead stubbornly against the late charge of Joe Carl.

Well, we'll try it again...they all look a bit dull to me except for the :5: Unexpected Gift...

Ok, well that's enough for me!! :D

Thank you Mr. Spaniard for letting me intrude...

Race 3: (4)THROUGH MY EYES was bet like a world beater in his debut after some bright workouts over Santa Anita dirt track, but he stopped badly running on the slow and deep late fall cushion track. This Kafwain/Old Topper gelding may be a dirt only horse and deserves another opportunity back on dirt and with good odds.

2nd ($4.40 - 2.80)

I'll take :2: across the board. Dropping from MSW to MC

You nailed me!!!!!

3 races 3 deep closers winning, 1st and second race they were strong favorites, but this 3rd winner... It looks like the very strong speed bias has softened and with the right pace conditions a closer can win... I've got to readjust my mind.

when a stablished bias changes there is money to make...

Zydeco

thought all was lost..then hope at least for the show....big close. Was not looking at this horse as a closer.

Race 5: win machine (9)Van Brit is a legitimate odds on favorite, but after a layoff and a change of trainer (3)BONITA STAR ran a nearly monster race last time out. This mare's got back class, she won a first level allowance over course and distance first time in the USA and then went to graded stakes competition, where she seems to have lost her punch. She's trained well after the last race and she could re-ascend another step of the class ladder today... enough for a win/show bet. The only doubt is that she might be better on polytrack than over the green.

Race 5: yesterday my pick would had been the speed dropping in class (Rossi Reserve) but closers are 3 for 3 today and I'll move to (8)WARREN'S SAMANTHA, a professional closer at this 8.000 level, 2 for 3 on dirt.

win/show

maybe what we've got is kind of a fair track (bias neurosis...)

Race 7: (9)ROCKIN COWGIRL showed high speed in her debut on polytrack and her workouts in Arizona already fast have improved a lot since then

46.4 > 45.3

59.4 > 58.4

in Santa Anita, even on a "fair" main track, this kind of speed is always dangerous, specially when the debut race was over a deep synthetic track.

Race 8: favorite (10)SKY HIGH GAL is bred for turf, her mother is a uterine sixter of Awad (won 4 grade 1 on turf). SKY's got the best turn of foot and tactical speed to get a decent position from her bad draw. Training great now with a top trainer. Legitimate favorite.

win

1st ($7.20 - 4.00 - 3.40)

daily double:

(10)SKY HIGH GAL - (1)ONIX BE GOOD (the closer)
(10)SKY HIGH GAL - (13)SUGAR SPICE (the speed)

Excellent call in the Blue Norther with Sky High Gal, I have should stolen your top and added my top (Scarlet Strike) and put the Exacta . lol lol

too many races for Scarlet Strike, and hard grade 1 races on poly and dirt, the filly was showing white flag in the Starlette, now 3 weeks later shift to turf just in case... she would like it, but in a tough stakes, non in an allowance. For me a bad managed filly. Hollendorfer is a great trainer, but even good trainers make mistakes.

the winner was fresh with just 3 runs, and all on turf.

Race 9: the speed (13)SUGAR SPICE, firing big bullets should win back on dirt. (1)ONYX BE GOOD is dangerous (closed big time in her debut) in a day with 4 deep closers winning.

win (13)SUGAR SPICE 1st ($6.80 - 4.40 - 3.00)
