EHV-1 positive forces Balmoral & Maywood to deny Sports Creek shippers
Crete, IL --- The Michigan Department of Agriculture is reporting a confirmed case of Equine Herpesvirus (rhino) in a horse that raced at Sports Creek Raceway on Dec. 19.
The affected farm has been quarantined and horsemen are being asked to be especially vigilant regarding potential EHV symptoms (respiratory disease and neurological problems) in their horses. If horse owners suspect EHV, they should immediately contact their private practice veterinarian.
